Who We Are

About Us

GeoIntegra_Wheel

Our mission

We create value for our customers by delivering rapid geologic insight for complex energy transition needs. Regardless of the scale or scope of project, we can work with our clients to deliver the insight they need to make the next right move.

Core values

Integration. Integrity. Results.

We believe that the only way to properly characterize subsurface opportunity and risk is to fully integrate all available data.

We believe in acting with integrity by delivering objective results to our clients and working with them to understand how to be most successful from the geologic insight we provide.

We believe in giving our clients impactful results, on time, every time.

Jason Eleson

Founder and Senior Geoscientist

Jason Eleson is the founder of The GeoIntegra Group and a Senior Geologist with twenty two years of experience from locations across the world. Jason first grew interested in geology as a child when he found fossilized remains of ancient horses and aquatic reptiles in outcrops near his home in Nebraska, and that resulted in a life-long career in geosciences. Prior to joining GeoIntegra, Jason was the Principal Geologic Advisor at Enverus. He has geologic experience in the continental United States, plus international projects in Kazahkstan, Brazil and Argentina. In 2001, Jason started his career as a geoscientist at ExxonMobil , then moved to Denver in 2014 and worked for Koch Exploration Company, Neos GeoSolutions, Caerus Oil and Gas and Enverus. In doing so, he expanded his knowledge of unconventional and conventional reservoir characterization, petrophysics, geophysics, machine learning, operations, development, and exploration. Since 2022, Jason has been working on energy transition projects, including site screening and prospect mapping for subsurface storage of carbon dioxide across the Midwest and Rocky Mountain regions.

Jason holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Geology. Jason is the former president of the Rocky Mountain Section of SEPM and the current 2nd Vice President Elect of RMAG. He currently resides in Denver.

Shawna G Pic-1

Shawna Gilbertson

 Senior Geoscientist

Shawna Gilbertson is a Senior Geologist with twenty years of experience. As a child, she discovered dinosaur bones on her grandfather’s land in Wyoming and has had a passion for geoscience ever since. She has experience working the subsurface in basins across continental United States in the Gulf Coast, South Texas, Appalachia, Midcontinent and Rocky Mountain regions. During her career, she has focused geochemical, geophysical and basin modeling research, and her prior employers include Terra Guidance, Sirius Exploration Geochemistry, Encana (Ovintiv), and Blackhawk Geoservices. During this time, she developed expertise in exploration, production, operations, geochemistry, and geologic modeling.

Shawna holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geophysical Engineering and Master’s degrees in Geochemistry. In May 2023 Shawna will complete a graduate certificate in Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage from the Colorado School of Mines. Shawna lives in Evergreen, Colorado.

Mike B Pic2

Mike Braunscheidel

Senior Geoscientist

Mike Braunscheidel is a Senior Geologist with ten years of experience. Originally from a hamlet in Upstate New York, Mike discovered geology as the perfect marriage of his love of science, proclivity for the outdoors, and passion for his burgeoning rock collection. He has global experience working the subsurface in basins in the Gulf of Mexico, Brazil, Guyana and Nigeria from his work at ExxonMobil. During his career, he has focused on planning and execution of vertical and horizontal wells and the structural geology of salt tectonics, contractional structures and extensional basins. He is also experienced in geophysics, seismic interpretation, geomechanics, petrophysics and shallow hazard assessment.

Mike holds a Bachelor’s degree in Geology and received a certification from the Kenan-Flager Business School Enterprise Leadership Program at UNC-Chapel Hill. Mike is currently a visiting researcher at the Colorado School of Mines, and will begin work on a PhD program at CSM in the Fall of 2023. Mike lives in Golden, Colorado.
